Welcome and thank you for being here!
I created this platform to connect people. Not just any people though… those who want to do good and be good. You see, I’ve long believed in the power of intent and that most people mean well. We all make mistakes at times or end up being the person that upset someone else. If we are human beings, it’s inevitable that this has or will happen to us at some point in time. So the question I think is important is “What is your intent?” Did you plan on hurting or upsetting someone? For most of us I truly believe the answer is a resounding “No, of course not”. Today, in this divisive world that we live in, there are many ways to separate ourselves from each other, to draw lines in the sand and reside on either side of that line, opposite someone else with different ideas. Our current media and social media landscape makes it all too easy to fan these divisive flames resulting in anger and a subsequent bevy of poor behaviors. We’ve all seen it on social media and in news outlets. But I know we can do better.
The thing is the number of us who want good outcomes, no matter which side of the proverbial line you stand on, is the majority of us. Studies show that when we have community, we feel better. Logically speaking, people who feel better then DO better. Therefore, the path to living in a society we want to live in starts with us. When our mind, heart and soul align we know peace. From this space we can help others and share that peace. In this spirit, MyWisdom does not allow any hate speech, name calling or any other purposefully hurtful, hateful or derogatory comments or content.
The biggest requirement to having an active account on the platform is GOOD INTENT. Unlike other social media platforms, users are held to high standards of respectful interaction with one another. Don’t like a political candidate? Explain why the one you do support is great and leave the insulting memes for your Facebook, if you really feel you must. The same goes for whatever country you do or don’t support in a war/conflict, as well as any subset of people, however they culturally or socially identify. We expect users to work from the positive space, rather than negative. This means you are free to create posts, events, commentary or groups of any kind to support initiatives you think deserve the attention, for good reasons.
MyWisdom is meant to bring people together for self-improvement, community connection and world evolution. In short, we are Social Networking for GOOD. And I can’t wait to see what you do here ☻
